6:45 am 31 degrees

I got to wear my Mizuno Breath Thermo...it was a little hot towards the end so I thought maybe it warmed up a lot more...but by the end of my run it was only 36. No biggy.

In other news I'm very angry with my math methods teacher. I made a lesson that combined math and social studies. The social studies teacher said we did excellent andmy grade shows that. the math teacher had a few things to say but didn't watch the entire lesson. He said I need  to bend down and talk to the kids more. I told him not all questions need that face to face time. Some questions are a simple yes or no...or good job. They don't need me to bend over and say yes....First off I think that is creepy. The teacher for the class is having a bad year and it shows in her classroom management. well he marked us low for CM. Which makes no sense because they were having a good day that day. There were a few chatty cathys but nothing like what our first lesson was like. And we warned him and he said "Not to worry, you can only do so much while yu are here."(2-2 hour days)

I need a 95 in the lab portion. I'm not meeting that standard with him. In my science and social studies methods I am. How can two people see the same lesson but come up with different grades? Ridiculous!

End rant

I wish all runs felt this easy. And I wish I remembered these easy ones when I am struggling through a run.

6:00am--31 degree....10:20 average pace

I really need to start remembering to look at the wind chill. I wore a skirt today. My knees are aching now that they are defrosting...brr...any who it is now 34 degrees with a 30 degree windchill. I'm assuming it was below 30 before the sun came out.

I comtemplating doing my long run today. But I have a meeting with the principal of the school I will be student teaching at. So I didn't want to rush the long run and then be tired for the meeting. I hope she remembers that we are meeting. I called to confirm yesterday but got no reply.

happy running all!

5:51 am 32 degrees-I hate chocolate hammer gels...blech!

I have been hard on myself when it comes to candy and soda....when I should be praising myself for turning off the t.v. and going to sleep by 10 so I can wake up at 5:30 to go for a run. So that was what I was happy for for today.

Very slow run. 11:04 pace...okay so now that I see that I don't feel so bad--that is my easy pace. But the miles were all over the pace--fastest being 10 and slowest being 12...go figure...there were hills in there too...so glad to be on the couch!

9:00am it was probably about 50ish degrees

This run was so fun. Some how I started in the front...my garmin wasn't cooperating with me so I started it a little late but that is okay.

So b/c I started in the front I also started fast. this made me nervous. I say this run was fun b/c there was a constant argument in my head. My head was saying slow down--save some for the end. And my legs were saying come on lets go. So the legs one. I even got to speed up towards the end for a fast finish. It is funny that last year I felt good at a 10 or 9:30 pace. This race felt so good. I was waiting for something-I thought I would surely trip or get a side stitch. I just had calming thoughts-I kept this Sublime song in my head and just kept singing it to myself over and over.

Oh and races are fun to go to b/c you wonder how some people run a mile with the form that they run with..or the breathing/stomping patterns. I just want to shake them and say, "Hey you are using waaaay to much energy running like this" But who knows maybe I run funny to them.

Here are my splits

1:8:23
2: 8:28
3: 8:22
4: 8:07

And I'm so glad this forum is here. The SO is happy for me...but I just don't think shares in my glee. OH and I got 4th place age division this time. But it was a PR for me. I never raced this distance before and I think I would have killed my 5 k time from a month ago. yup smile on my face for the rest of the day.

And now I must go entertain guests!

I have been ill...Sitting here breathing is still a struggle. I thought it was just a sinus infection. I was wrong. Or maybe it just manifested into my chest. Any who I lost my voice Monday, canceled everything I had going on Tuesday and laid around. I made it to school Wednesday but skipped my night class. Today I was feeling better (through wasn't raw and swollen) but now I just have this horrible cough. I hope to be running again by Saturday. Sunday at the latest. :(

Very slow. I took the yellow dog with me. When I don't have to I stopped waking up to the alarm this week. Trying to keep rested.

I got out by 7:30 this morning. There was a lot of traffic. ONe of thelocal roads is closed again for construction. That made it difficult when crossing streets.

And in case anyone was counting with me....3 more weeks of school....then break and then STUDENT TEACHING. Which means I only have to put up with work for about another month. I'm sooo happy (they keep screwing me over with shifts) For example this girl is moving to Vegas...so they keep giving her the good shifts b/c she is moving. I"m like hello? I'm trying to pay bills here in my regular life! I can't complain though. I haven't been short money yet....just worried about when I'm student teaching. I just hate when they preach to me about fairness. Okay end rant.

Happy running--and I'm glad I'm back!

Gobble gobble! happy Thanksgiving!

7am run-38 degrees 30 with the windchill. Run got progressively windier and I hate wind...along with that the mist became ice...Which really stinks btw.

10:40 pace--my shoes are soaked...my hat, and jacket were soaked and I had a bad case of the red belly...Yuck!

6:30am run 31 degrees

I experimented today with clothes. I have been a little to warm with my jacket mid run. Today I ran with my breath thermo and no jacket and fleece lined pants. It was cold at first and I wouldn't do it if it was windy but it was actually quit comfy. I think I"m getting my stride back for running after being sick

I"m going to try not to look to much over my monthy mileage b/c it is sad! As long as I don't get sick I should haven't any problems being back over 100 miles for december!

In othernews, we went to my SO's father's girlfriends house (did ya get that?). I love her daughter. She is only 3 years older than me and she is a riot. She runs too. So I found her on facebook. Her brother was in from New York with his wife and he is a runner to. I was a little put out by him (first time meeting him) b/c he was like, "What level of a runner are you?" And when I said "1/2 marathoner" he seemed to lose interest. But then I got him back later at dinner when I asked if he had read "Born to Run". He hadn't even heard of it! How can he call himself a marathoner? LOL...Well I was going to say I was going to recommend this site to the sister but if she see me ranting about her brother we may stop being friends. hahaha...but any who they invited me to run the Turkey Trot with them next year. And I htink she she trying to convince me to do a triathalon with her next summer. I got the biking and running down but where could I practice the swim? At any rate they are both very nice and it was nice to spend the holiday with them. Honestly she would be my first running friend....I hope to run some races with her in the future (we live about an hour from each other so training runs aren't really an option)

And in more news--I'm looking into a marathon/or 1/2 marathon (depending on if I like marathons) in Hawaii for when we go in 2011...I found one that is in June and seems to be relatively flat and is out and back.

Happy Blogging!

Stars are prettier at 5 am

5am run first 28 degree run for the season (which is amazing) 9:52 pace

I was going for MP miles...but closest one I was 10 secs short. Oh well try again tomorrow!

I was exhausted yesterday. I didn't run b/c I had to finish a project and then go to work so I promised myself that I would wake up early and get in a run. Hopefully it makes me feel more energetic throughout the day.

WEll off to school then work..laters bloggers!
