6:15 am 64 degrees and humid 11 minute avg pace

I felt like a turtle. i just couldn't get speed today. Could it be that I woke up at 5:45 and left my house by 6:45 and didn't get home till 11:30 pm? Hmmm or the lack of sleep? probably not going to expect much from myself after a day like yesterday.

Monday night football=busy bar.

Yesterday I got to meet my 1st grade class that I will be working with this semester. I'm pretty excited. The teacher is pretty uptight. Not judging just thought it was interesting. I have two other teacher students in there with me and we all wondered if she chilled if the children would chill as well. I do like that she signs to the students. I took a class about 9 years ago so a lot is coming back.

Oh and today I get to go read or something to my friends 1st grade class!

questions going through my head when the alarm went off...and actually I was asking myself them last night when I was preparing for my long run (getting my fuel belt together and clothes out)

1. Why am I doing these long runs?
2. The only races I have are 5k's
3. The very earliest long race I would have is maybe a 10 miler in April
4. Why not take a break?
5. what is the point?

So I skipped my long run today. I have been slacking on weights so I did

2 sets of 15 nose breakers 24 lbs
3 sets of 13 bench press 65 lbs
50 crunches on the ball
2 sets of 15 hammer curls per arm 12 lbs (I need to get some heavier dumbells)

The closer it comes to decision time about the full marathon the less I want to run. So that means I'm not ready to do it right? Or should I just jump in feet first? My brother isn't running. he said he will start back up again when he moves back to Illinois (Oct). I know that I have to think in terms of that I will be on my own. I know my SO will be there but he will be at the sidelines cheering...and not running.

My brother finally signed up for the forum--say hello to him Jeremy09

6am run

I figured something out this morning. If I switch my shoes up my feet hurt and my shins hurt. Wedndesday in my new ST3's my shins hurt...but I ignored it.

Today my mizuno's hurt my feet..and they have never done that. so i'm going to take the new ST3's and put them away for now and use my mizuno's till they die. This happened before in my other brooks...so it was a good idea but no more rotating shoes...just hurts too much..my feet cramp up.

Speedy McSpeedster

7:30am I ran a mile to Fleet Feet Sports and a mile back afterwards. This is my first fun run, but i"m counting it as a race because I ran it like one. The actual race was short by .15 miles...but here are my garmin splits

1: 10:05
2: 8:47
3: 8:48
4: 8:29
5: 9:31

Oh and I"m naming my runs now. I stole the idea from a girl on Ravelry. I think the 3 middle miles mayb VO2 max miles...not sure so I kept them at threshold miles. I can't find my run off of the VO2 miles for VDOT 36...I think that is where I"m at...any who

I had a yum lunch-cucumbers with lemon and salt, homemade salsa with tostitos with hint of jalepeno, tomato, roast beef sandwich.

Happy running all!
