Could not sleep last night. Need more protein breakfasts. I had just oatmael for breakfast and was starving by like 10 (lunch isn't till 11:30)

Run was long today b/c mixed in some walking. about every 1 mile to 1/2 mile. I printed up a GallowayMARATHON training plan. I"m gonna 'start over' with week one maybe next week.

If I time it right with the one training plan I'll be able to do both races...I'm just gonna suck up having to walk...hey if if means I can run some then that is what I will do.

while they were walking? I don't believe that!

Galloway wants you to do a full 26 miles BEFORE the marathon? That is shocking to me. Are you planning on doing that?

From Burt on Fri, Jan 07, 2011 at 14:12:42 from 206.19.214.144

Have I ever lied to you? Blogger Gary Culver gallowayed his way thru the Mesquite Marathon and beat me.

Nicole--UM NO...UM HELLL NO. Actually the plan i have (novice 1) has me only going up to 20. Which I thought was lame and wanted to do atleast 22 but my stupid leg sucks. Last year I ran 19 so I know I can do 20. I think mentally it would be better to be able to runn 22 b/c then there is only 4. 2 more miles to go and who can't run another 4 miles? LOL

Burt--no i can't say that you have lied but I just do not believe you in this situation!

HA! That's what I would think too. Have you ever been to a PT or someone about ITB? I have been going to the PT and he has found a lot of things that are "weird" and that will be difficult for me to tell you about because I don't really understand them.

But basically one leg is almost "significantly" longer than the other (the short one being the ITB one, which makes a lot of sense). Also probably partly because of that then my hips are not symmetrical (the bad one is higher than the good one) and probably because of that, some muscles in my hip are all locked up and I don't use them because of this so they are super weak. Also I have a weak core (these tiny muscles which you don't use during plank so even though I can do plank for a while apparently that doesn't matter!). These muscles stabilize your hip also adding the problem.

Basically I have a billion problems but its nice to know (maybe) why foam rolling and strengthening hasn't been helping me. Anyway, though I'd share in case you might have these issues too!

Oh great now I have to think about one leg being shorter than the other? Sigh!

I haven't been to a PT. I'm cheap and I hate doctors. Which is why I started running b/c it keeps me reletively healthy. I know I suckbut I'm gonna run even with the pain--partly b/c i'm stubbon and cheap (I'm 1/2 dutch) and partly b/c I'm and idiot! LOL
