rest day...got zero sleep...got a new dog and he was up and around all night...heres to a better night tonight so I can get in 3 quality miles!

I am thinking about getting a Garmin 305....still hesitant...I guess b/c I don't run many miles although in the years to come I will...so i'm like why not wait for the 405 to drop in price? What a pickle!

I just bought a Garmin 305 and had the same dilemma about the 405 before I placed my order. After some research I discovered that most everybody hates the touch bezel on the 405 and it's totally unusable when it gets wet. Everybody seems to love the 305 even though it's big and ugly. The 305 coupled with the free Sport Tracks program is the coolest thing ever for a techie geek like me and it's still "fisher price easy" to use.

Ooh I like fisher price easy! I was worried about that too...I'm like really how much of this stuff will I actually use? And what is the is sports tracks program? clearly I have not researched enough. And the ginormousness of the 305 does worry me...but I use to carry bottles of water with me so nothing can be any more cumbersome than that!

You will never notice the size or weight of the 305 while you're running. You will appreciate the giant display though when you are reading it on the run!

Sport Tracks is a free(actually donation-ware) program for your computer that replaces the terrible Garmin training center program that comes with the watch. It will show you your course on a google map, display your splits on a bar graph, and even make those fancy elevaton charts like they have for most marathon courses. You realy don't even need it(or the garmin software) to use the watch, but it is very cool.
