The weather lady said there was a 10 % chance of rain this morning. So I thought I would wakeup a little earlier to get in my 8 miler...i woke up at 5:45 to thunderstorms....sigh...let the dogs out ate some breakfast and went back to bed from 6:30 to about 8:30. I have to say that I should not have taken the nap. I should have staye awake and puts around.

I did and out and back. They remind me of knitting socks...once you knit the first one ou don't want to do the second...I was very sluggish--i fought the run basically the entire way. Galloway 5:1 was not working for me...seems when i did finally get into a groove it was time to walk again...also I only brought water with me. Last week I had some left over sports beans and some powerade...that run was stronger...must not forget food and water next time...

oh and it was HOT and humid. I know 69 is not that hot but the humidity is at 85%...YUCK!

AND there was sooo much traffic. I got yelled at and honked at and stared at...oh i hate running at 9am--note to self...do not do that again..

I made it through this run b/c I told myself that when I got home I would make a smoothie (bananas, strawberry, and blueberry)

and look at this little guy that I almost stepped on...

weird looking lobster guy

It sounds like you're wishing you had run earlier. Would it have been better to run in the rain? I don't have a lot of experience runningin the rain, so I don't know.

I hope you got your smoothie!

Its a crawdad! Breakfast.

Great analogy about the socks! Except with an out and back you kinda HAVE to go back; I've still got about five single socks that never made it to pairs!

Do you carry your cell phone while you run? So you can take pictures of crawdads and such?

What was a crawdad doing on the side of the street? EWWWW there are too many BP and other steel mills in that area--probably toxic!

Well that sock thing makes me feel better...I'm not sure I"m liking this one I'm making (kind of boring for my first one)

Carolyn--I did get my smoothie--it was delicious. You don't run in the rain? I guess I thought it would rain in CO. The weather people kept talking about how awful the storms were going to be...but all I heard was thunder--no lightening--so yes I think I should have just ran earlier...

It does rain here occasionally, but it's more often in the evening than in the morning and I always run in the morning. I've run in the rain once or twice. It's just something I have to do very often.
