it is a little to hot at this time to run. Or maybe I just don't like the sun. Neither does the dog b/c he was panting!

I sent in money for a 5k on October 24th. Maybe I can beat my old time. Maybe I will win my age division...and maybe I can keep dreaming LOL.

I'm thinking about doing a FULL marathon next summer. By then I will be a college grad and will only be working. So less will be on my plate. I found one in Michigan about 3 hours from me. It is supposedly very hilly and mostly trails. So should I do it? I mean it will be my first so i'm not concerned with time (under 5 would be nice). I don't have any trails to train on around here and there aren't any marathons going on in July or August in my area...I have till December to think on it before the price goes up (oh it is cheap--40 bucks!)

And my usual bag of tricks are not working to combat my allergies...blah...

40 bucks is cheap, but hilly and mostly trails sounds kind of daunting to me. But if you're not concerned with time, I'm sure you could complete it. If it's in the summer, will it be hot? You didn't like the heat today. That's why I ask.

yes yes good point...I am always more afraid of the heat than of the hills! add the two and it maybe disaster...I think I will keep searching.

Which one is it? I loooove trails. Maybe not hilly though.

Why not wait til October and do Chicago? I think it's a great 1st marathon. It's hot during training, but the bulk of training is during the summer when you won't be teaching. And my school secretaries have always been supportive when I turn in my request for a scheduled "sick-day" the day after a marathon.

Well I will look into it...BUT I ran Chicago's 1/2 and there were just waaaay too many people--and honestly I doubt most of them were there due to the weather.

Also--this will be my first teaching job so I don't know if I want to push it as far as days off go. And that means I will be running a lot while working 40 + hours a week. Right now I work 30 and then I have school for 20 but all of those hours are all over the place and seem to work well for my running schedule. I suppose i"m afraid I would fall back into my old ways when I had a day job and when I got home from work would be too lazy to exercise and really dind't want to wake up early enough to do it either...okay I know I"m thinking waaaaaay to much about this...
