Today I realized that I need a warm up of about 2miles, on average, before my legs actually feel normal.
Despite only running 4 days this week I hit my mileage goal and then some for the week ...yippee!

Are you running tomorrow? What was your mileage goal this week? What's your goal for next week?

I agree. I love my warm up, and have noticed that it makes the entire run more successful.

I take a couple of miles to warm up as well.
Congratulations on getting out in the morning and on hitting your mileage goal.

Tracy-this weeks was 17 miles for the week. Next week is 18 with an 8 mile long run. I know this doesn't sound like a lot but lemme explain...
18 is my minimum that I have to run. I set up my training program to where i counted backwards from race day with my long runs and the I just put minimum mileage for the week. I used runners world as a guide but they only have you running 3 days a week. This worked out great last year but I needed more. So 18 is my minimum so that if I atleast do that I am happy with myself.
it seems I have been running 5 days one week and then the next 4. I haven' tbeen able to do 5 two weeks in a row yet. Either b/c of the race or just timing got a hold of me.
Oh and Saturdays are my day off. I may for for a short run but I decided Sunday is my fast running day so I like to have (as sno puts it) fresh legs.
