7:35 52 Degrees---yippeeee!!! Easy run

Whatever happened to the days when I took two days off and my legs felt fresh? Now they feel all tight...blech...but it was a good run anyway. I had to keep slowing down b/c I'm really trying to use Daniel's times. 5 days till Madison--They are forecasting 72 degrees with some cloud cover...YES!!!!

Only five days? So exciting; you are going to rock! Do some extra stretching and maybe some Epsom salts baths for those legs. YOu want them fresh for your race! You have certainly put the work in.

I find that taking too many days off makes my legs stale rather than fresh. I do short, easy runs the week leading up to a race to avoid getting stale.

Your temp at 7:30 this morning was significantly cooler than my temp at 5:00. Weird.

You gotta love that cool air! Have a great time at your race. Don't think about the results, just enjoy it and do your best and I am sure you will be pleased.

I love the cooler weather! It is sooo awesome!!!

So do you think a 2-3 miler on Friday would be okay?

Sno--I agree I think I just need to treat each race like it was my first--do my best and be happy with that!

Well, this is just my take on it, but I've been racing well this summer so I think it works... If I say to myself, "I am going to do great!" my nutty brain says, "uh oh... that's the requirement? can I do that?" and Doubt gets a foot in the door. But if I say to myself, "I'm going to have fun!" and "I'm going to do my best," well *those* things I know how to do. Race strategies for the Confidence Impaired, lol! Does that make sense?

Makes a lot of sense! I think both of our brains work the same...
