Todays run was hard...made me wonder why I run. It was hard waking up this morning, hard getting out there and then hard running. It got a little better after 2.5 miles but still it kinda sucked. Glad it is over.

So I set my garmin down by my computer so it would download. Well I heard it beep--there is no activities in the garmin, but they also did not download into garminconnect. What am I missing?

and p.s. I signe up for the Madison 1/2 for August...yippee!

UPDATE

Fastrunningblog won't let me post sooo here is my response to everyone's comments.

I have a 405 ( I love it)
it wasn't my first time uploading either. I usually upload after everyrun. I don't really get how to scroll to see my individual times for each mile.
Any who...I never downloaded after the 5k. When I started running this morning it started tracking on that race. So I had to stop and start a new work out. So I wonder if that messed it up? At any rate I lost both runs!

And i'm so happy to have signed up for the 1/2. There is a 10 K I want to sign up for too that is in like 3 weeks. I know b/c I paid the money I will get out there and run!

And I didn't think my race from Saturday would still be effecting me today?! I thought I would be okay. I even told myself that it was okay that I missed yesterdays run b/c i was still recovering...lol

Today I ate the usual cherrios, banana, milk, juice--lunch pb and j, doritos, 1/2 a coke, and an apple, snacke I had a bagel with cream cheese...sporadic gummy worms thrown in all day. another snack i had peanuts and powerade. And dinner I had ribs, baked potato with butter and water. I will probably have some popcorn before bed.

Good run. Everyone has runs like that. It'll be better tomorrow.

Sorry I can't help you on the garmin question!

You may have some lingering muscle repairs from the 5K. Good job toughing it out for your 5.

Re the Garmin - is it the first time you have uploaded? There is a thingy in the settings mode (I think) that you have to turn on the first time, so that it recognizes your computer. Get some knitting and get comfortable while you wait on hold for tech support and they will kindly walk you through it. That's what I did.

Congrats on signing up for the half!!! How exciting. Nothing like a race on your calendar to focus your energy.

I don't know why I missed that you signed up for a 1/2. Awesome!

And what model of garmin do you have? Not that I can help you or anything, but right now I'm doing my research so I can buy one!

Sorry you had a bad run. It happens from time to time. Just keep at it and it will get better. That's great that you signed up for a race. It's always nice to have that out there for motivation.

I hope that Sno's Garmin advice helped you. I have an old one that's not wireless, so I'm no help.

For the Garmin, I don't know about the wireless download and lost data since I only have the 305, but I'm pretty sure you still have to "reset" the timer after each run if you do not download it to the computer. Otherwise it will just pick up where you left off last time, even if it has been powered off between runs. Downloading it to the puter automatically does the reset for you. I think this is actually a feature not a bug :) I have screwed up a couple runs like that too. How do you like the touch screen on your 405? Is it usable while you're running?

Mike-I love the bezel. I was worried b/c I have heard so many bad things about it...but it really is easy to use. If it messes up at all it is b/c I did something wrong. Also you can lock the bezel so you don't accidently hit it on a run. and very user friendly while running. I mean I'm still getting use to the menus but the ones I am comfortable with are a breeze.
