I don't have much time b/c I have to get the dogs on their walk before subbing...but my legs felt like old lady legs...It is weird...I haven't worked since Sunday and now my legs feel sluggish? Maybe too much sitting around and doing homework?

Any who--Happy Running!

I think your run today will have helped you get rid of the old lady legs. If you run again tomorrow or the next day I think you'll feel better.

Good luck with the subbing and the homework.

I agree with Carolyn, at least I always feel (well maybe old man legs in my case :)) the same way if I take a day or two off.

I wish I had a dog to run with! Maybe someday if I move out of the city....

So it is soooo weird that you all say that only b/c when I first started running a break felt great..but now taking 2 days off is murder! I thought if I did my exercise video (has lots of squats) on Wednesday I would be okay. Not so!

JakeK--unfortunately I can't run with my dogs. So the one (my dog) has hip dysplasia--there was a time I would run with her and walk her much farther than I do now but turns out I was doing more harm than good.

I have a 9 y/o Husky but she gets too over heated and blahs out after about 1.5 miles (I tried to run with her for a while there)

and the boy dog is 5..he is actually really awesome to run with. I am working with him on how he walks with me on a leash b/c sometimes he likes to just jut out at a squirrel or a bird. And the places I run have no side walks so I need him to listen really well. I'm thinking next week I will start running with him for 3 milers... tomorrow I hope to do a 4.75 so that won't work...we shall see!

Sorry that was a lot of explanation...but I love my doggies!

April, I love my two dogs, but can't run with either of them. Jake (a hound mix who just showed up on our door one day) has to follow every scent (and can't run more than 2 miles anyway); and Keiko (Rhodesian Ridgeback -- couch potato) is old and never much into running anyway!! But they are both sooooo fun. Our dogs get to go to doggie daycare 2x a week and then have a dog walker come by another 2x a week -- they are very very spoiled (well, we don't want our carpets to get spoiled - and we generally work really long hours so we kind of have to do that). Anyway - I love my dogs too (and I love my not-so-nice cat too).

I am pretty selfish with my running time - so I tend to keep that to myself.

I am sure you will feel ready on your run tomorrow - after a couple days off it often feel like, "have I ever run before?"
