Weird weird run. I ran pretty slow the entire time except the last few miles. I was distracted by all the huge houses for sale. Also my usual first two miles were shin painful. I noticed that I can hear my footfalls. After a while I was treading lighter and the pain went away...so Now Ijust have to remember to listen for my feet--if I can hear them then I will probably feel pain. I have been noticing this trend the first few miles.

And I wore my fuel belt today...i started wearing it at my hips and it kept creeping up. so after a few miles of messing it I moved it to my waist. right above my belly. Not horribley uncomfortable but atleast it stopped moving.

I ate breakfast after my run-eggs with cheese, milk and salsa, toast with jelly and butter and bacon. Yum! with cranapple juice and yum water!

I wore my fuel belt for the first time in a long time a couple of days ago. It was turning all around and I got some chafing on my belly from it. That never happened when I wore it in the winter I guess because I wore my clothes then.

Do you actually mix the milk and salsa together?

Carolyn--do you run naked in the summer?? LOL

Thanks Sno

JD-I cook my scrabbled eggs with milk and cheese...then when they are done cooking I pour them over the salsa...so in a way yes...but not at the same time. OH and this was the first time using homemade salsa--sooo yummy!

Not naked. But the shorts and singlet don't cover quite like the smartwool I bundle up in in the winter.

I had knee issues when I first started running and I noticed I could hear my feet slapping the ground too, especially in the rain so I would focus on rolling off my feet from heel to toe so I could not hear them. It took a while to get it down, especially in the rain, but I've had no knee issues since then. I just had to learn to run in a way that didn't beat me up.

Rattletrap-did you notice your stride got smaller at first? I know when I started listening to my feet my stride got a little shorter. but today I seemed okay..no knee or shin pain..YIPPEE!

I never really thought about my stride length. 8 miles with no pain is great! I wish I could do that lately :)
