I ran 5 days this week! Must keep it up! Today I played with my watch and tried to focus on keeping my feet up when running and my knees down...felt weird...but the pains would go away when i did...but i felt more out of breath...

So I did a warm up and a cool down but here are my splits now that Sno told me how to make that part work

Mile 1: 11:22

Mile 2: 11:15
Mile 3: 10:02

See I knew I was getting faster over a period of time. When I was running with a group they would start out all fast (like 30 seconds above the pacing time) and then I woudl wonder why I was dying by the end...well guess what? it is b/c I am a slow starter but finish strong! LOL

any who i'm tickled I ran 5 days this week! tee hee

I'm trying to decided if I want to go drive 3 hours to Madison in August for the inaugural 1/2 marathon...sounds like it would be fun...and it would take place before fall semester starts back up...Plus it could serve as a mini gettaway...now what to do with all the dogs while we are gone!

I always start very slowly. Even my intentional cool down at the end, when I'm *trying* to be slow is nowhere near as slow as my warmup. Congrats on the 5 days!

Hammie is better--well once i realized what I was doing wrong with the Chi Running...I need to pick up my feet!

Sno-That is good to know...it was killing me how that group was just so fast at first! it was suppose to be the 10 minute pacers and they would start out at 9:30...i'm like i'm good with 9:30 at the end of a run NOT the beginning!

Good job getting out there 5 days this week! Running often will help as much or even more than running far or fast.

You should go for it on the 1/2 if you are up to the miles. Inaugural events are usually fun and always a little special. That's what got me to run the Tacoma Marathon in '07 and also the Seattle Rock and Roll next month.

Re: Seattle RnR - me too. I love doing the inaugurals, even though they can have kinks.

From april27 on Sat, May 16, 2009 at 14:29:52 from 99.188.251.180

Yeah I thought about the kinks. I think the race i capped at 2,000...which is great...not too small and not chicago sized (I did not like that)

I think I have about 15-16 weeks to train..well to get serious..LOL...
