I got a late start this morning. I didn't wake up until about 8. I was super tired. I did some laundry and laid out in the sun for an hour while reading some homework and then went and rain 4 miles. I was only going to run 3 but I convinced myself, "What's one more?" My pecs are pretty sore from yesterday and so are my legs for that matter. I guess speed work tires out my legs too.

Oh and it seems to be working! All but the first mile were between a 9:50 and 9:30 pace. Sweet! I also think that running 5 days a week is helping...

Nice run! Yeah, speed work does tire your legs out, and seems to use some different muscles as well. You really need to alternate your days between speed/strength work days and "easy" mile days. The Daniel's Running Formula book is pretty good for helping you figure all the paces out.

I'm glad that 5 days/week is working for you. Consistency is very important.

Auntieem--I think I usually do...I just messed up the other day by doing weights. I dind't want to wait until tomorrow (which is going to be my new off day) to start on weights.

I have figured I will do it like this

Sunday-Speed work

Monday-Easy

Tuesday-Off running but do weights

Wednesday-long run

Thursday-Easy run and weights(arms)

Friday-Hills or Easy

Saturday-day off

Most of the time I just go by how I feel...Today I felt great so pushed myself...now i'm tired...stupid period is kicking my butt! LOL
