I'm right there with ya. My achilles has been bugging for about 3 weeks now. Worst! Good luck.

Nice long run. What did you use for fuel? Gu? :-) Really though that's great considering - hope the achilles/foot behaved.

LOL. I guess that is the good thing about these short runs. I haven't eaten in like 6-7 hours. LOL

Scott--is anything working for you?

From april27 on Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 14:29:47 from 99.188.251.180

I was kinda happy. 3 runs in a week isn't too awful...if you are a newb...LOL

From april27 on Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 14:30:41 from 99.188.251.180

OOPS I had to edit...I ran 2.37...not just two. LOL

From april27 on Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 14:32:22 from 99.188.251.180

Wow scott you make me look like a weiner. I have got to be doing something wrong if your achilles is bugging you but you are still busting out 9 miles...grrr.

From Tracy on Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 20:26:50 from 206.29.182.189

Baby steps are still a step in the right direction. Next week you'll make it longer!

From april27 on Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 20:45:45 from 99.188.251.180

Yes Tracy. Patience is not my strong suit so thank you for reminding me that I am doing something.

Don't forget to post those miles on TC. Every little bit helps :)

Carolyn I like your math. Rat-I have been. Just waiting to see if my foot is up for 2 tomorrow :)

From Scott Wesemann on Sat, Jun 25, 2011 at 16:56:00 from 205.158.160.209

Here is what I have been doing and it seems to help- heel inserts, not running hills, icing after every run, stretching (leg lifts) and resting more than normal. The biggest thing is no hills. I can run pretty much pain free as long as I am not running hills. I'm dying to run some though. Its been 3 weeks. Oh I also went to the doc and he put me on a steroid (flex :) ).

From april27 on Sun, Jun 26, 2011 at 00:34:17 from 99.188.251.180

Scott--thanks...the icing after runs seems to be helping and so is my splint for at night (mornings were killer) and of course flexing my foot a lot to stretch it out.

From auntieem on Sun, Jun 26, 2011 at 10:16:30 from 67.182.149.104

So sorry about the Achilles stuff, April! Annoying to say the least. Do you have it taped?

From april27 on Sun, Jun 26, 2011 at 12:03:14 from 99.188.251.180

no tape. just splinting and icing :)
