Isn't yoga exercise?

So I read your resolutions--how's the no soda and chips thing going? I am going to really go after my terrible diet habits after this next marathon! My discipline with eating is...non-existent.

From april27 on Mon, Jan 17, 2011 at 20:11:28 from 99.188.251.180

Tracy--yes it is--just doens't feel like it cuz it isn't cardio--I dunno I feel like I"m gaining weight (I have no scale) and just feel like a slug--i just keep eating.

April--no chips so far--and I had a 1/2 a soda and realized it tasted REALLY gross the other day. So that was about 2 weeks in. I think I'm cured. Now I have to work on my insatiable want for CANDY CANDY CANDY. I wish there was a patch or a pill I could take.

From Tracy on Mon, Jan 17, 2011 at 20:28:19 from 173.23.75.96

If it weren't for candy, I would probably weigh 110 lbs. I LOVE candy. I can give up anything else and be fine. Soda? No problem! Bread? Whatever! Chips? Easy!

But candy? Oh man, if I am confronted with it, not only can I not resist, but then I eat too much of it. I always give it up for lent and do okay when it's for God. I keep it up for a little while after, but once I give into temptation, I can't get enough. I'm like a coke addict.

I love ANYTHING bad for me and have zero self control. So, I run instead!

Great job on sticking to your resolutions. I could never give up soda. I do not drink it that much, but it is my beverage of choice for movies and after races!

Yoga should make your back feel good! Hmmm.....I wonder what is up.

Mmmm...forbidden doughnut...

From april27 on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 09:07:21 from 165.138.243.1

Tracy and Kelli--I feel the same way! chips wasn't an issue to get rid of. Coke was hard but I'm dealing with it. My husband loves his soda so they are still inthe house and it sucks.

I just bought candy yesterday--I put it in the cabinet--seems that out of sight out of mind so I haven't been eating as much.

I'm gonna try for only one serving a day and see if that helps at all.

I started eating more nuts so I think the crunching and filling feeling ya get after eating them is sort of helping. But who knows cuz sometimes I will still gorge myself on the candy.

JD--donuts...blech! candy yes!

Elliptical always makes my low back hurt; don't know why. Its weird, because my low back is really not my sensitive area.

Good luck with the diet stuff; I am waiting until Lent, if I can remember when it is, and giving up beer. I know this seems strange, but I love beer. It is a great recovery beverage for me, because it is loaded with electrolytes.

From april27 on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 13:18:03 from 165.138.243.1

Aunt-I love beer too! This year I decided I"m not gonna be a beer drinker--instead I will make myself like wine and or drink hard liqour only.

I will try to make sure tonight to see what I'm doing with my tail bone...maybe that is another reason my lower back is sore.

From JD on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 14:56:12 from 70.96.78.149

Auntieem! Beer is the elixer of life! I'm down to 3 or 4 beers a week, which seems just about right as far as running goes. But to give it up completely? That's as incomprehensible as foregoing doughnuts. Good luck!

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 15:04:55 from 71.219.84.215

OH, I like donuts!!! Every single kind.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 15:08:13 from 71.219.84.215

Wait now, does beer really have electrolytes? I knew it had carbs and was a GREAT post marathon drink, but electrolytes???? Really?

From Tracy on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 15:17:34 from 209.175.177.37

I don't know, but here's a guy who is dying to develop GatorBeer.

They need to get rid of the carbonation---so many athletes will not drink carbonation (especially mid run).

FUNNY. This was in 91, I see it went nowhere.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 15:32:59 from 206.19.214.144

I was going to suggest coccaine or meth like Tracy, but I guess hard liquor could help you replace your candy habit. If you don't do Yoga right it could hurt your back. I know that first hand. Or first back.

JD - stop picking at your head.

From april27 on Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 20:27:08 from 99.188.251.180

Tracy--that guy needs to hurry the heck up and make me some healthy beer. I love the way it tastes!

Aunt needs to explain this electrolyte stuff. I love a cold beer after a hot run.

Burt--I can't drink hard liquor every night! which is when I want candy. And whatever mixer i like involves juice (HFCS) or soda (caffeine and sugars!) so I"m screwed! I may have to start buying olive juice and just making dirty martinis...but What I remember from my bartender days is that olives are high in calories. Sigh. I need the perfect drink!

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 09:16:44 from 71.219.84.215

I think the perfect drink is water! But that is not too exciting. ;o)
