For whatever reason this run was hard on me. My knees went back to hurting (yesterday they were fine). I feel like i haven't run this slow in a really long time. I'm going to go take  acold bath and  contemplate why I run.

And to be completely contradictory...I think my SO is going to run a 5k with me. Well we may actually end up walking it. He doesn't run and he is a smoker. We shall see. He has a part time job as the bowling alley mechanic and he texted me saying he ran the length of the bowling alley and was out of breath. So cute...hahaha

Nothing wrong with slow! Not for 10+ miles. It's still money in the bank.

That is a nice long run. 25 degrees still seem awfully cold! Treat yourself a bit; you know why you run, and better runs are ahead.

Like Sno said, there's nothing wrong with slow, especially for a long run, and in the cold to boot. I hope you have a nice run soon that reminds you why you run.

Thanks all. Just seems like for every good run I have 5 bad. I have a calendar on my fridge for marathon training. I think i'm going to start putting a smilely face on it for every good run that way it doesn't seem like all my runs are bad.

I put smiley faces (hand drawn) on my paper log for all my "good" runs. I think there are three for December.

You're a good influence on your SO. Encourage him to light up AFTER the 5K. Although it would be pretty funny to see someone running a race with a lit cigarette dangling from their mouth! Lol!

Nice ten miler today!

Nice run! I think it says a lot that you went out and did it, and more importantly finished it, when you weren't mentally there. Keep that dedication. The runs will get better...

JD--I thought I wouldlet you know that your comment made me crack up. I told my SO about it andhe said, "What no one smokes in these races?" and then he said, "Don't think I won't be smoking" You guys are both hilarious, and I don't doubt that he won't be smoking while he is chugging along!
