Drove to the bike path. They extended it a little south. I don't know how far b/c there was this huge lake going over the path about 4 miles in so I turned around and went back to my car.

Here is the run down. I had a banana before I left the house. In my car I had some chia seeds and water. Ran 8 miles. Stopped at my car for a Froze bar (freebie from a race--but it was ymmy) and more chia seeds and a swig of powerade.

I was feeling really good but noticed I was running too fast (told myself no walking today) But my legs wouldn't listen so at about mile 9.75 I walked for a quater mile b/c the ITB stared to hurt. I stretched at mile 10 and felt fine for the rest.

I did take off my shoes when I had .5 left to go. It was too cold for that so I put them back on. But for the minute they were off my feet felt great (they seem to get charlie horses in the arch)

Very pleased with this run. so much so that I will list my splits

Nice miles! Looking good!

Are you on spring break this week?

I wish!!! last week of March...sigh LOL but no tutoring next week! yeah!!! Glad to have a break b/c I can run when I want!

Great run!

We had to get a new washer and dryer last weekend. We haven't had a dryer for years, just hang dry. But our old washer finally broke down so we found a used set online for relatively cheap. Good luck.

JD--line dry everything? Wow. I mean we have a line in the basement but that is for stuff ya can't or shouldn't dry.

Well we replaced hoses b/c that seemed to be where the leak came from. Turned on the water and it leaked from the shut offs. So now he is trying to get 60 years worth of paint off the water lines to replace those. Such a good husband.

Yeah. I've gotten so used to line drying everything, having a dryer again has really messed up my system. But I'll adjust. Lol!

JD-I can see that.

Okay so I have a training sched question. My half in 2 weeks falls on a cut back weekend (10 miler scheduled) before the 1/2 I have a 13 miler and after I have a 15 miler. Should I shuffle the long runs around?

From Tracy on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 20:46:01 from 173.23.75.249

I would probably do that.

From april27 on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 10:59:05 from 99.188.251.180

should I do the 10 miler the week before or after the race--should have been my question.

From Tracy on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 13:33:00 from 173.23.75.249

I would probably do the 10 miler before the race.

However, if you don't care about the race too much and are really just doing it for a training run (no mini taper necessary), you might consider doing the 15 mile run first, then use the week after the race as an easier week before you start building again.

Tracy--thanks. I didn't thinkg about that. I do care about the mini. I want to do it under 2 hours. So do 10 this weekend then 13(race day) then 15.

I hope I'm able to do 15 the weekend after the race :)
