I wanted to do 10. But once I got to 4 I started feeling the twinges and decided to turn around at that point. Stinks..tomorrow starts marathon training and I"m not sure where to go from here since it a 5 day a week plan. I guess one of my 3 milers could be an ellip day. And as far as long runs I think taking the day off before and walking early is helping. I started hurting later in the run. This is all new to me!

Just read your whole week's posts...wow! You've been running VERY early in the morning. Hope the ITB behaves now that you've discovered the cause may be from the slant of the road. NICE banking that 8+ yesterday. GOOD LUCK this week starting your marathon training! You'll do great!

Twinges again! Its tough to know how much attention to pay to twinges. Sometimes they mean something and sometimes they don't. Do you ever try stopping mid run and stretching? I stop if I feel out of alignment in my hips/knees and do some drills.

Hang in there and don't feel obligated to a marathon plan. The best plan is one thst doesn't hurt. I have a pretty lofty goal and my current plan has more rest days than run days :)

Rattletrap-that makes me feel a lot better. Plus when I think about it I was at 80 miles per month at the peak of my mileage for my first 1/2. So I suppose if I"m hurt 85 isn't too bad.
Aunt--oh yes I stretch. That is why I can only really run 4.75 in the a.m. Takes me the full hour.
Smooth, I'm running so early that I can run in the middle of the street and avoid the slant!

Make sure you're wearing some high visibilty clothes if you run in the street when it's dark. You never know when some dummy in a Prius will forget to turn his lights on and sneak up on you. Those things are whisper quiet.
