9:00am it was probably about 50ish degrees

This run was so fun. Some how I started in the front...my garmin wasn't cooperating with me so I started it a little late but that is okay.

So b/c I started in the front I also started fast. this made me nervous. I say this run was fun b/c there was a constant argument in my head. My head was saying slow down--save some for the end. And my legs were saying come on lets go. So the legs one. I even got to speed up towards the end for a fast finish. It is funny that last year I felt good at a 10 or 9:30 pace. This race felt so good. I was waiting for something-I thought I would surely trip or get a side stitch. I just had calming thoughts-I kept this Sublime song in my head and just kept singing it to myself over and over.

Oh and races are fun to go to b/c you wonder how some people run a mile with the form that they run with..or the breathing/stomping patterns. I just want to shake them and say, "Hey you are using waaaay to much energy running like this" But who knows maybe I run funny to them.

Here are my splits

1:8:23
2: 8:28
3: 8:22
4: 8:07

And I'm so glad this forum is here. The SO is happy for me...but I just don't think shares in my glee. OH and I got 4th place age division this time. But it was a PR for me. I never raced this distance before and I think I would have killed my 5 k time from a month ago. yup smile on my face for the rest of the day.

And now I must go entertain guests!

An awesome race!!!!!!!

You should listen to your legs more often :)

When's the next 5K?

From april27 on Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 14:35:05 from 99.188.251.180

Tracy-I don't have another race planned until the Indy Mini in May. I wanted to do a Thanksgiving race...but we may be on the road...so that isn't going to work out!
