9am run--40 degrees windchill33..When did the wind chill start again? jeez!

Okay so I offically called this week a running hiatus. I found my blogs to be very negative and annoying to myself. So I gave myself a break. I still can't believe I only ran 10 miles in a week! I think the race brought me out of it. I also ended my 8 month boycott with the LRS. Yeah!I went shopping...they are the only ones that I know that have these nike pants that I love! I also picked up another mizuno breath thermo shirt. They didn't have womens so she suggested males..it is longer! I'm in heaven. Maybe I won't get red belly this winter! HA! I also got some hammergels and cliff blok to see if I like them. Afterwards I went grocery shopping and stocked up on yum foods and veggies.

A friend said to me why are you eating all this candy you are ruining all of your training! that struck home with me...So I'm not wiping it out...but I'm not going to gorge on it. This week was midterms week. It was the most stressful midterms I have had ever. Glad it is over. Moving forward.

Today is day one of no coke...lets see if I can make it the week!

OH my race time is sort of a guess. I forgot my Garmin...and at mile 3 she yelled out 26 something or another. Either way I think it is a PR for me...yippee!

People were actually complaining about the hills. I thought this was funny b/c I'm like really? You call those hills? ahahahha...I didn't say that out loud. I guess they found all the flat areas to run around here. Me, I like hills!

Nice 5k. I think we share a weakness...CANDY. yum yum

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Oct 24, 2009 at 16:49:38 from 24.8.167.243

Great job on the race. Congratulations on the PR! And congratulations on the no Coke. I heartily endorse an avoidance of soda.

This is a hard time of year to stay away from candy, but I'll try if you will.

Excellent job on the 5K!!

I second Carolyn's endorsement of the soda avoidance. I started eliminating soda a year and a half ago. It was tough at first but now I don't even think about it.

Congratulations on your PR! Why did you have to guess? Didn't they post results at the end? Keep up the good work on those hills. The more you run them, the smaller they all seem.

From april27 on Sat, Oct 24, 2009 at 23:25:32 from 99.188.251.180

JD-did you replace it with something else? I wish I could get my boyfriend not to drink it...but that is a futile fight--otherwise it would be much easier to say no!

Rattle--I got cold and went home and didn't stick around for results. I know I'm a weener..

Carolyn and Bec-I'm not cutting candly completely...I'm just promising myself that I won't inhale an entire bag or box of candy in one sitting.

Great PR! you rock!!

I am also obsessed with candy and it really has to go. this week I tried to do 3 day stretches with none, though today I ate a LOT so that didn't really work :-)

good luck with no coke, I love diet coke which I know is bad for me but at least it has no cals! I've gotta tackle just 1 vice at a time!

From april27 on Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 00:31:19 from 99.188.251.180

Guess what? I just checked the results and I got 3rd for my age division! Yippeee!!! Now I wish I would have hung around to hear the results!

From april27 on Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 00:31:39 from 99.188.251.180

Nicole--lets me there for each other! No candy goals!

From Snoqualmie on Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 13:14:24 from 24.18.192.33

Woohoo! Congrats on the AG placement and a great race!! You have a great running life ahead of you.

From Tracy on Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 18:53:57 from 173.24.32.153

Way to place 3rd! That's awesome! And glad you're excited about running right now!

Good luck on the no candy/soda thing. Like Carolyn says, you picked a hell of a time to decide to cut down--maybe you should turn off your lights on Halloween so that you don't have to buy trick or treat candy and then get stuck eating all the extras.

From JD on Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 18:58:04 from 209.183.51.64

April - no I didn't replace the soda with anything specific. I usually just order water with a meal if I'm eating out. My wife still drinks soda, but she's slowly cutting down, which is a move in the right direction. Water costs less too!

From april27 on Mon, Oct 26, 2009 at 23:32:10 from 99.188.251.180

Thank you thank you all!

Tracy--most of the kids by our house are too old for that stuff...so it wouldn't be hard to hide..LOL...we didn't have many trick or treaters last year!

JD--that is great news--I wish I could get my SO to stop...it would signficantly lower our grocery bill...coke is so expensive!
