My pacing was no where near my MP pace but b/c I was working so hard during this run I counted them as MP miles. I think I aveaged about 10:30 for this race (my last mile was the slowest b/c it had the steepest and most climbs.

It was all up or downhill and all trails. This was my first trail race and run period. I think I did pretty well.

My friends did the walk (same path but started after the runners) I waited and waited for them. I guess they got lost. Eventually they found their way--not to the finish line but to the parking lot.

It was for my friend's kid's school so that was nice. And the spread was really nice! I have seen Marathons with less food!

Shirt is pretty cool too spooky halloweenish.

This trail was only about 40 minutes from my house. I noticed that they also have a 6. something trail as well. I may come back when I need a pick me up.

I like trail running. I wish I could do it more often!

How were the hills on the trail? Pretty steep or just rolling? Where was the race? IL or IN?

Sounds like a fun race. It's all about the t-shirt!

JD-I prefer the wicking ones...then I have more clothes to run in and don't have to do so much laundry!

Tracy-Portage, IN...I like the trails too. I wouldn't really call the hills rolling. They weren't super tall but they were steep. I had to pick my knees up more than I normally do on a hilly run.

Great job on the tough trail!

Good job! I love halloween races. Was anybody running in costumes?

Rat--oh yes! I"m not sure why this surprised me...but there were a few men dressed as women--in french maid outfits or dorothy from the wizard of oz. I know some ended up pullin goff their mask or costumes mid run b/c it was warm for all that. I was even wearing a long sleeve and a skirt and found that to be too warm!

I wanted to do a halloween race this year, but I'm broke and not feeling very speedy. I'm just going to wait for the Resolution series and shoot for a new PR, or four. I still have 10 weeks to get ready for the 5k.
